Ceist:75 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Finance when he will make a decision on the decentralisation of Government Departments to County Roscommon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17329/03]
Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.
As I have said on many occasions, a wide range of important issues must be considered in the process of reaching a Government decision on decentralisation. That decision has not yet been taken and while the deliberative process is ongoing, it would not be appropriate to identify any particular location which might be selected for inclusion in the new programme of decentralisation.
I am aware of the case made for County Roscommon and it will be given full consideration, together with submissions received on behalf of other towns and counties throughout the country, as part of the deliberative process.
