Ceist:

225 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children the progress which has been made in relation to resolving the strike by the public health doctors; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there is a major backlog of domiciliary care applications in health boards awaiting inspection which is causing considerable distress to individual applicants. The public health doctors returned to work on Friday, 20 June following the recommendation of the IMO that they accept the settlement terms brokered by the Labour Relations Commission and the determination issued by the Public Service Adjudication Body. The IMO is balloting its members on these recommendations, the result of which will be known on 4 July 2003.
