Vol. 569 No. 4

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

John Cregan

Ceist:

281 Mr. Cregan asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government when work is scheduled to commence on a project included in the water services investment programme 2002 to 2004 (details supplied); if his attention has been drawn to the lack of supply recently in this area and the surrounding areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18057/03]

Bennettsbridge water supply scheme is included in my Department's water services investment programme 2002-2004 as a scheme to advance through planning. My Department is awaiting the submission by Kilkenny County Council of a brief for the appointment of consultants to prepare a preliminary report for the scheme.

My Department has received no specific proposals from the council about any recent water supply problems in the Bennettsbridge area.

Denis Naughten

Ceist:

282 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government further to Question No. 123 of 20 February 2003, if funding will be approved for the Ballyleague sewerage scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18101/03]

The Roscommon towns and villages sewerage scheme, of which Ballyleague is an element, is included in my Department's water services investment programme 2002-2004 to advance through planning. As indicated in the reply to Question No. 123 of 20 February 2003, my Department has approved the brief submitted by Roscommon County Council for the appointment of a client's representative to prepare a design review report and tender documents for the scheme. Further advancement of the scheme is now a matter for the council.
