365 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children if a grant or other scheme exists within his Department whereby the carer of a disabled couple can be assisted with the purchase of a four wheeled scooter or moped type vehicle to improve their quality of life; and if he will make a statement on the matter. No such scheme is currently available within the remit of my Department. I wish to draw the Deputy's attention to the disabled drivers and disabled passengers (tax concessions) scheme, the regulations for which were drawn up by the Minister for Finance and come under the remit of the Revenue Commissioners. The Department of Health and Children has no statutory responsibility for the regulations or their operation.
