496 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if Garda numbers available to cover the Cabra/Navan Road areas of Dublin 7 are depleted by the security requirements of Áras an Uachtaráin; and if additional Garda manpower can be provided to make up the shortfall. [18654/03]
I am informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the day-to-day allocation of resources, including personnel, that gardaí from Cabra Garda station perform uniform protection duty at Áras an Uachtaráin. Personnel strengths at Cabra station are calculated to include the security requirements at Áras an Uachtaráin and routine day-to-day policing matters.
