Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.
In 2002 my Department's expenditure on IT equipment amounted to almost €9.3 million. This expenditure related to the purchase of computer hardware, software, computer ancillaries, the maintenance and support of hardware and the licensing of software. In addition a total of some €3.73 million was spent on consultancy assistance for projects in the IT area.
Provision has been made in the 2003 Estimates for expenditure of €8.95 million for IT equipment and related expenditure and €7.877 million for IT related consultancy support by my Department.
