254 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for Health and Children further to a letter sent to Deputy Crowe, if his attention has been drawn to a follow-up letter sent on 11 April 2003 asking him whether the issue raised, the extension of the motorised transport grant to those who need to attend further education, had been considered by the inter-health board working group; if this consideration has taken place; and if a decision has been made on the matter. As the Deputy is aware the national health board working group on disability-related allowances examined the issue of extending the motorised transport grant to those in third level education and have submitted their report to my Department. However, as the Deputy is aware any changes to existing schemes or grants which are not cost neutral must have prior approval from the Department of Finance. My Department is in discussion with the Department of Finance regarding the funding implications of the working group's proposals.
