18 Ms Burton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the services affected by the recent industrial dispute at agricultural offices around the country have been restored in full; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19012/03]
Officers in my Department who were engaged in industrial action in five local offices returned to work on 13 June 2003. Normal services have been restored since. However it is inevitable that a backlog of work had built up over the course of the dispute. Management has examined the position and identified areas to be given priority to eliminate the backlog and overtime has also been made available to assist in its clearing.
