Vol. 570 No. 4

Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Ceist:

73 Ms B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Defence the total amount of funding allocated by his Department for the provision of payments, facilities or services for those with physical or intellectual disabilities in 2003, giving the heading or subheading in the Estimates under which the allocation has been made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19516/03]

There is no specific allocation in the 2003 Defence Estimate, Vote 36, for the provision of services of the kind outlined in the question. However, the 2003 Army pensions Estimate, Vote 37, includes under subhead B the sum of €6.9 million for the payment of disability pensions and gratuities to former members of the Permanent Defence Force in respect of permanent disablement due to a wound or injury attributable to military service. No specific allocation has been included in the 2003 Estimates.
