389 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Finance if approval has been received from the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform in relation to the sketch scheme drawings for the new Garda station at Leixlip, County Kildare; when construction will commence and the timeframe for completion of the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister of State at the Department of Finance (Mr. Parlon)

A design sketch scheme was issued to the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform for approval. The Department subsequently requested significant alterations to the sketch scheme. Office of Public Works has advised the Department that the proposed alterations are not appropriate in the circumstances of the Leixlip site. The Department is currently re-considering the matter.
