405 Mr. McEllistrim asked the Minister for Finance when the proposed long awaited new site for Castleisland Garda barracks, County Kerry, will be finally obtained, in view of the inadequate and hazardous conditions of the present temporary Garda station in Castleisland; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The process of acquiring a site is still ongoing. Ultimately, the acquisition will depend on an acceptable price being reached; the relative priority accorded to Castleisland by the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, and the availability of sufficient funds to complete the purchase at the appropriate time.
