Written Answers. - Teacher Remuneration.
The teacher to whom the Deputy refers is being paid in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions for second level teachers. These terms and conditions of employment are agreed at the Teachers Conciliation Council. This council is comprised of representatives of teacher and school management organisations and of the Departments of Finance and Education and Science. Agreements reached at the Teachers Conciliation Council are of general application to all teachers and can be amended only by further agreement of the council. A detailed response to this teacher's recent claim for incremental credit is being prepared at present and will issue to him shortly.
