516 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will approve the appointment of a special needs assistant to St. Kieran's national school, Moore, County Roscommon, in view of circumstances outlined in correspondence of 9 September 2003; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have made arrangements for my officials to contact the school in question in regard to the matter raised by the Deputy.

517 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science when an additional room will be provided in a primary school (details supplied) in County Mayo in order to facilitate a person (details supplied) with special needs in order that they can be taught there. [20114/03]

My Department is currently processing an application for accommodation for the existing resource teachers at this school. A decision on the matter will be notified to the school management authorities as soon as possible. Arrangements will be made by my officials to contact the school in question in relation to the educational needs of the pupil referred to by the Deputy.
