545 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in sanctioning approval for a special needs assistant for a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if the matter will be resolved immediately. [20248/03]
I am pleased to inform the Deputy that, following receipt of a report from the national educational psychological service, my Department has now approved an allocation of a full-time special needs assistant and ten hours per week resource teacher support for the pupil in question. The school authorities and the parents of this student have being notified of this decision.
