Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

566 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science if school transport will be provided from the home of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo attending primary school in view of their medical condition and in order to allow this person to finish their education at the same pri mary school which has the facilities in place for their educational development. [20364/03]

A report on this case has been requested from the local Bus Éireann office. The Deputy will be advised of the position as soon as this report has been received and assessed.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

567 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will review the decision on school transport in relation to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare in view of the fact that their children commenced school in Sallins national school in 1988; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20366/03]

The family to whom the Deputy refers are ineligible for transport to Sallins NS, as this is not their nearest school. In the circumstances, it is not open to my Department to sanction transport as requested.
