569 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to the request for a special needs assistant for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare attending Killashee national school, Kilcullen Road, Naas, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am pleased to inform the Deputy that, in light of additional information received, a special needs assistant was sanctioned by my Department on 11 September 2003 to enable Killashee national school to cater for the special care needs of the pupil in question.
570 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if and when a special needs assistant will be made available to St. Conleth's infant school, Newbridge, County Kildare, to cater for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20369/03]
I am pleased to inform the Deputy that the special education section of my Department informed the management authorities of St. Conleth's infant school by letter dated 9 September 2003 that a special needs assistant on a shared basis with two other pupils was sanctioned to cater for the care needs of the pupil in question.
