Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Gay Mitchell

Ceist:

902 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason it has taken nearly two years to respond to Parliamentary Question No. 432 of 6 November 2001 (details supplied); the reason the matter is still under investigation; when he expects to be able to provide a comprehensive reply; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20212/03]

Responsibility for the provision of health services to persons residing in counties Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. I understand the authority issued a response to the Deputy arising from his initial question in this matter. The Deputy's further questions, as I pointed out in my most recent response on 2 July 2003, are at present being addressed by the authority and a response will issue to him as soon as possible. My Department has contacted the regional chief executive of the authority with a view to having the response expedited.
