Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - Drug Treatment Services.

Paudge Connolly

Ceist:

903 Mr. Connolly asked the Minister for Health and Children if adequate funding will be provided to the Aisling Group in Navan, County Meath, to enable the group's Bradán day programme to continue to provide its most valuable service to drug abusers in the North Eastern Health Board region to enable them to come off methadone and remain drug free. [20247/03]

The provision of drug treatment services, includ ing funding for voluntary organisations, is the responsibility of the health boards, in this case the North Eastern Health Board. My Department has requested the chief executive officer of the North Eastern Health Board to look into the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
