My Department has recently received a submission from the South Eastern Health Board relating to a proposal for the development at St. Canice's Hospital of a 30-bed residential unit and day facility for psychiatry of later life and a 22-bed residential facility for the elderly. This proposal is being considered and my Department will continue to liaise closely with the board so that the matter may be advanced.
