Ceist:977 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding the appointment of a GMS doctor for Ballymore Eustace, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20825/03]

Responsibility for the provision of services under the GMS scheme is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board-authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
