273 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the extra resources he has authorised to facilitate the enactment of outstanding EU directives; the EU directives outstanding now; the reason for the delay in each case; and when the backlog will be cleared. 1. Directive 1996/43 on the imposition of Veterinary Inspection Fees for the inspection of food producing premises, inspection of food imports and border inspection.

Delay is due to the size and complexity of the Directive which involves introduction of four Statutory Instruments.

2. Directive 1995/63 the agreement on the organisation of working time of seafarers concluded by the EC Ship owners Association (ECSA) and the Federation of Transport Workers' Unions in the European Union (FST).
