375 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the total amount of Lottery funding made available to sports clubs in the Dublin area for 2003; the successful applications for 2003; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22122/03]
The national lottery-funded sports capital programme, which is administered by my Department, allocates funding to sporting and community organisations at local, regional and national level throughout the country. The closing date for receipt of applications under the 2003 sports capital programme was 25 April 2003. A total of 1,337 applications were received and evaluated by my Department in accordance with the assessment criteria for the programme published in the guidelines, terms and conditions document which accompanied the application form for the programme. Following completion of the evaluation of the applications received by my Department, I announced all provisional grant allocations under the programme on 25 July and 29 August last, amounting to over €52.8 million. As requested, a schedule of the allocations to Dublin, which totalled just over €14.1 million follows.
