397 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of patients awaiting nursing home subvention in Naas General Hospital; the effect this is having on the availability of beds in the hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21846/03]
As the Deputy will be aware, the responsibility for the provision of health services in the Kildare area rests with the South-Western Area Health Board under the aegis of the Eastern Regional Health Authority. Information on individual applications for nursing home subvention is not collected routinely by my Department. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the South-Western Area Health Board to collate the information requested by the Deputy as a matter of urgency at which stage my Department will forward the information to the Deputy.
