Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform further to Parliamentary Question No. 1019 of 30 January 2002, if his Department has made progress in reviewing the legislation relating to explosives, including the promised review of the law and the policy on the regulation and control of fireworks; if he has direct proposals to stop the daily scourge of explosive devices being discharged, terrifying particularly senior citizens, those living alone, and also causing severe distress to many animals; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
