503 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government the position regarding the application by Athy Town Council for the provision of funding for the refurbishment of houses at Townspark and Carbury Park, Athy, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 503 and 506 together.

Officials of my Department and Athy Town Council met in July to discuss the plans and costings for the refurbishment of the houses in the estate. Subsequently, my Department wrote to the town council in September requesting the authority to address a number of issues and to set out the extent of works eligible for funding in privately owned houses in the estate. The town council's response is awaited.
