515 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government if there is funding available to attend educational courses for members of the Institute of Clerks of Works and building inspectors. [22257/03]
The training of local authority building control officers, who monitor compliance with the building regulations, is funded from fees payable to the local building control authorities. The training courses are organised by FÁS, the training and employment authority.
Any State support of training courses for clerks of works and building inspectors employed in the private sector would primarily be a matter for FÁS.
