Vol. 572 No. 1
171 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Transport if the maximum support and assistance will be given to professional airline pilots, and his views in detail on a query (details supplied). [22565/03]
As I stated in a reply on the same subject on 7 October 2003, the day-to-day oversight of aviation safety falls within the responsibility of the Irish Aviation Authority. The IAA is examining the proposals and will give its view on the completion of its analysis.
In so far as this proposal may lead to legislative changes, I assure the Deputy that I always give the highest priority to safety matters.
This matter is not on the agenda for the Council of Transport Ministers meeting.
