Ceist:100 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the horse is officially regarded as a farm animal or not; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22598/03]

In so far as animal health and welfare is concerned, provisions in relation to horses are included with those relating to other farm animal species in the Diseases of Animals Act 1966 and in other legislation.
