Ceist:119 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Laois did not receive a 20% payment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22617/03]

The person named claimed a share of a commonage on his 2002 area aid application with which there was an ongoing problem. This has now been resolved and his application has been fully processed with an area of 75.69 hectares determined for payment purposes.
The person named qualified for slaughter premium in respect of 23 animals under the 2002 scheme. The person named also applied for special beef premium under the 2002 scheme in respect of 29 animals. Advance payment at the rate of 80% of premium has issued to the person named in respect of both schemes. The balance of premium due will be paid as soon as possible now that the forage area position has been determined.
The person named applied for premium for 34 animals under the 2002 suckler cow premium scheme. His 80% advance instalment amounting to €6096.88 issued on 16 October 2002. The application has been processed for balance payment, which will issue shortly. In relation to 2002 extensification premium, the case will be processed for payment of this premium when the 20% balancing payments due to the person named under 2002 suckler cow premium and 2002 special beef premium are paid to him.

According to my Department's records the persons named did not submit an application under the 2003 ewe premium scheme consequently they do not qualify for any payment under that scheme.

Ceist:121 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of the area aid will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22620/03]
The person named included two parcels of land on her 2003 area aid application in respect of which an overclaim was determined. The file has been sent for urgent inspection. Until this matter is resolved, her area aid application cannot be fully processed and no area related payments can issue.
