Vol. 572 No. 6

Written Answers. - Flood Relief.

John Bruton

Ceist:

181 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if the Office of Public Works will replace the fence between Beechdale Estate, Dunboyne and the Castle River, which has to be removed by its workers in the flood alleviation works currently being carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23856/03]

The fence to which the Deputy is referring has not been removed to facilitate the flood relief works being undertaken by the Office of Public Works on the Castle Stream in Dunboyne, County Meath, nor might it prove necessary to remove it in the course of the rest of the works. However, it is the Office of Public Works's view that the fence is in very poor condition and because of this, the Office of Public Works has entered into discussions with Meath County Council regarding the possible replacement of the fence once the works have been completed.
