Ceist:

240 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to a major undercapacity in the current school bus service, which brings students from the Ballynacargy, Sonna and other areas to various schools in Mullingar; if adequate capacity will be provided to accommodate the requirements and pupil numbers on this route; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department is not aware of the details of the case referred to by the Deputy. However, a report on the matter has been requested from the transport liaison officer, County Westmeath Vocational Educational Committee. As soon as the report is received the matter will be considered further.
