Richard Bruton

Ceist:

335 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Transport the number of carriages for Luas which have been acquired to date; and the date of their acquisition. [24286/03]

The issues raised by the Deputy are an operational matter for the Railway Procurement Agency, RPA. However, the RPA has confirmed that the last of the entire fleet of 40 trams for the two lines was delivered to Sandyford depot last month. The first tram was delivered in November 2001, with the remainder having being delivered at the rate of approximately two per month thereafter.
