Ceist:150 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason extensification for 2002 has not yet issued to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and when this issue will be resolved. [24542/03]

The person named claims that he sold 14 cattle on 20 February 2002 to a named cattle dealer. At the time the movement took place, it was the responsibility of the vendor to apply to the cattle movement notification agency in Bandon for an FMD9A permit to move the animals from the holding and the responsibility of the purchaser to confirm that movement.
It appears that the above procedure for the movement was not followed in this case. The person named has been informed by letter of the procedure that must now be followed. When the movement of the 14 cattle in question has been updated on the CMMS animal database, the question of paying 2002 extensification premium will be considered further.
