164 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if closed circuit television contracts awarded through his Department are put out to public tender; if so, the way in which they are advertised; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24681/03]
In accordance with prevailing EU and national public procurement regulations and guidelines contracts for the supply, installation and commissioning of Garda Síochána closed circuit television systems, which are awarded through my Department, are subject to a competitive tendering process. Notice of invitations to tender for Garda CCTV projects are advertised in the national newspapers and in the supplement of the Official Journal of the European Communities, OJEC. In addition to the above, it is intended that invitations to tender for future Garda CCTV projects will also be advertised on both the Government's e-tenders and official EU websites.
