Vol. 573 No. 2

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Jim O'Keeffe

Ceist:

181 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government when the preliminary report in relation to the advancement of the Innishannon water supply to Ballinspittle-Garrettstown was submitted by Cork County Council; and the reason it is not being dealt with. [24662/03]

The Inishannon-Ballinadee-Ballinspittle-Garrettstown water supply scheme has been approved for funding in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2003-2005 under the rural towns and villages initiative.

A preliminary report for the scheme was submitted by the council in November 2002. To facilitate further consideration of the preliminary report, the council has been requested by my Department to undertake a review of the water demand requirements of the villages to be served by the scheme, and their surrounding hinterlands.
