My Department is currently actively engaged in pursuing the development of a dedicated second level programme for children with special needs on Dublin's north side.
The school concerned has indicated its agreement in principle to host the proposed unit. Further discussions are being arranged to address issues relating to accommodation needs and the levels of teaching and other supports required by the school in order to facilitate this development. I am hopeful that the unit in question will be in place for the coming school year.
