231 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the status of an application under the IAS in the name of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; when payment will be made; and if the application will be expedited. [25357/03]
The above-named person submitted an application for payment under the installation aid scheme on 12 June 2003. As the application was deemed to be incomplete, additional information was requested from the applicant and a reply was received on 8 October 2003. The eligibility of the application is currently being examined and the outcome will be notified to the person concerned in due course.
232 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason there is a 2% reduction on all payments to a person (details supplied) in County Clare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25361/03]
The 2003 area aid application for the person named was received in the area aid unit on 11 April 2003, which was four days after the latest date for receipt of application forms. In accordance with EU rules relating to area aid applications involving land in permanent pasture a 0.5% reduction in payments due must be applied for each day late, therefore, a 2% penalty must be applied.
