455 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Health and Children his plans to provide an emergency service at St. Vincent's Hospital, Athlone; his further plans to improve the services on this site; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25144/03]
Responsibility for the provision of services, by legislation, rests with the chief executive officer of the relevant health board. Accordingly, my Department has referred this question to the chief executive officer of the Midland Health Board for investigation and direct reply to the Deputy.
