Ceist:

524 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Transport the percentage of flights that were on time and delayed from Carrickfinn to Dublin and Dublin to Carrickfinn; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24943/03]

In 2002, the PSO air service between Dublin and Carrickfinn County Donegal was operated by Aer Arann up to 21 July and by Euroceltic Airways from 22 July to the end of the year. According to information supplied by Aer Arann, operational performance on the route from 1 January to 21 July 2002 was as follows: there were 198 flights from Carrickfinn to Dublin, of which 92% departed on time, or within 15 minutes of scheduled departure time. There were 199 flights from Dublin to Carrickfinn, of which 95% departed on time, or within 15 minutes of scheduled departure time.

Regarding the period from 22 July 2002 to the end of 2002, Euroceltic Airways, now in liquidation, failed to submit reliable information relating to operational performance on the route during 2002. The Department subsequently terminated the PSO contract with Euroceltic in January 2003, following the suspension of the airline's air operators certificate by the UK Civil Aviation Authority.
