Vol. 573 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

213 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo is being refused a REP scheme payment on commonage land that they and their family have farmed for 50 years or more. [24839/03]

My Department has no record of an application from the person named for the current rural environment protection scheme. The requirements for commonage to be deemed eligible for payment in REPS are listed in the published scheme specifications.

Ceist:

214 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive area based payments for 2003; and the reason for the delay in payment. [24940/03]

The 2003 area aid application of the person named was fully processed with an area determined for payment purposes of 19.4 hectares. Payment of full entitlement under the 2003 area-based compensatory allowance scheme will issue shortly. The person named applied on two animals under the 2003 suckler cow premium scheme on 12 February 2003. Her application is now being processed for payment and the 80% advance payment will issue to her within the next seven days.
