Vol. 573 No. 4

Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.

Before coming to the Order of Business, I propose to deal with a number of notices under Standing Order 31.

I request the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss an issue of national importance, namely, the recent issue by the Blood Bank of over 100 products to hospitals from blood donors in the Munster region who were not properly screened for the deadly West Nile virus.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss a matter of regional importance, namely, the continuing lack of air and sea rescue cover and an air ambulance service from Sligo to cover counties Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo and the consequent unacceptable risk being posed to the lives of fishermen and those who need an air ambulance service.

Having considered the matters raised, I have found that they are not in order under Standing Order 31.
