Vol. 574 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tax Reliefs.

Pádraic McCormack

Ceist:

248 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Finance if his Department published the report which was commissioned through a company (details supplied) to conduct an analysis of the implications of the section 481 film tax incentive; when this report will be published; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26211/03]

John Deasy

Ceist:

255 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Finance if his Department has completed its review of the study submitted to them by the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism and the Irish Film Board, concerning the abolition of the section 481 tax incentive for film and television production; and if so, the outcome of the review. [26599/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 248 and 255 together.

The Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism forwarded to me a copy of a study reviewing the tax relief for film production that was commissioned jointly by his Department and the Irish Film Board. I have asked officials from my Department to examine this study and this examination is under way. As the report was commissioned by my colleague, the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, the release of the report is a matter for him to decide upon.
