381 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children his plans for the accident and emergency unit at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny; if there is a delay in appointing a consultant to the unit; if a decision will be expedited; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26303/03]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

The provision of services at St. Lukes Hospital, County Kilkenny, is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
