Vol. 574 No. 1

Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

Olivia Mitchell

Ceist:

389 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the level of provision of service delivery in the training and rehabilitation of those with acquired brain injury in the Dublin area. [26394/03]

The provision of health related services, including training and rehabilitation, for people with an acquired brain injury is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

Dan Neville

Ceist:

390 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will report on the situation with regard to the transfer of 24 persons with intellectual disability from St. Joseph's Hospital, Limerick, to accommodation appropriate to their needs. [26419/03]

Responsibility for the provision of services to persons with intellectual disability and autism in the Limerick region lies with the Mid-Western Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
