Vol. 574 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

214 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the remainder of payments, due under all schemes, for the past three years. [26143/03]

The person named has been paid slaughter premium 2001 in respect of one animal. Slaughter premium for 2002 remains outstanding to this producer in respect of one animal.

The person named submitted four applications in respect of special beef premium 2001 for a total of 56 animals. Advance payment at the rate of 80% has issued in respect of 42 animals. Three applications have been received in respect of special beef premium 2002 for a total of 51 animals. As two animals died during the required retention period, payment is therefore outstanding in relation to 49 animals.

The person named has not submitted any special beef premium applications to date in 2003. Further payments under both schemes are being held pending the completion of investigations into identification and registration issues in regard to bovine animals on the named person's holding. My Department will be writing shortly to the person named in regard to this matter.
