Vol. 574 No. 2

Written Answers. - Health Board Services.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

293 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo can expect to be called for orthodontic treatment. [26671/03]

As the Deputy is aware, responsibility for the provision of orthodontic treatment to eligible persons in County Mayo rests with the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

294 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will investigate a situation in which a person (details supplied) in County Cork has been refused respite care in St. Patrick's Hospital, Fermoy, on the grounds that they are not in the respite area. [26752/03]

As the Deputy will be aware, responsibility for the provision of health services in the Cork area rests with the Southern Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him as a matter of urgency.
