Vol. 574 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Gerard Murphy

Ceist:

126 Mr. Murphy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will examine the case of person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if the payment will be allowed. [26980/03]

Under the installation aid scheme, applications for entry (IAS 1) into the scheme must be submitted within a period of six months after the date of set-up in farming. An IAS 1 form was received by my Department from the above-named person on 16 September 2003. It appears that this application may not have been submitted within the period of six months referred to above and that a penalty may, therefore, be applicable.

However, a final decision as to payment must await receipt of the application for payment (IAS 2) from the person concerned. Once this has been received, the outcome will be notified to the applicant in due course.

Ceist:

127 Mr. Murphy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will examine the case of a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [26982/03]

The person named included a forage land parcel on his 2003 area aid application in respect of which a slight overclaim was determined. A deduction of 0.45 hectares was made to his application because of this overclaim. The 2003 area aid application for the person named has now been fully processed with a forage area determined for payment purposes of 66.36 hectares.

Payment under the 2003 area-based compensatory allowance scheme on 26.27 hectares of disadvantaged land will issue shortly. The person named submitted an application for 27 animals on 3 January 2003 under the 2003 special beef premium scheme. This application has been processed for payment and the 80% advance will issue shortly. The person named has eight animals eligible under the 2003 slaughter premium scheme. As seven of these animals were beef heifers under 30 months of age, they are also eligible for national envelope top-up. Some 80% advance payment has issued on 20 and 21 October for the respective schemes.
The person named applied for premium for 44 animals under the 2003 suckler cow premium scheme. The application has been processed for payment and his 80% advance instalment will issue shortly.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

128 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive their area based payments, in view of the fact that they submitted all the documentation requested some time ago. [27081/03]

The delay in making payment in this case arose from the fact that it was necessary to seek information from the person in relation to the stocking density on the holding.

This matter has now been resolved and the person named will be paid his full entitlement under the 2003 area-based compensatory allowance scheme shortly.
