209 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Health and Children further to Parliamentary Question No. 418 of 7 October, if only 32 beds are in use in the new community care unit at Maynooth, County Kildare; if so, the reason the unit is not operating at full capacity; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Responsibility for the provision of health services in the Kildare area rests with the South-Western Area Health Board acting under the aegis of the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has asked the authority's chief executive to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him, as a matter of urgency.
