Vol. 574 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Paul Connaughton

Ceist:

119 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the 2003 suckler cow grant will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26931/03]

As stated in my reply in this matter to Parliamentary Question No 228 on 4 November 2003, the 2003 area aid application form for the person named is being processed.

The person named applied for premium for seven animals under the 2003 suckler cow premium scheme. In processing the application for payment, it was found that one animal, tag number KLMN0012P, was moved out of the holding inside the six months retention period and therefore required replacing. Correspondence issued to the herdowner on 8 November 2003 requesting her to nominate a suitable replacement. As soon as this information is available the application will be processed further.

Ceist:

120 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the 2002 payments for compensatory payment on a plantation in the name of a person (details supplied) in County Galway was made; when the 2003 payment will issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26932/03]

Payment due in 2002 under the 1989 EC scheme of compensatory allowances in respect of forestry issued to the person named on 7 February 2003. Payment due under the scheme in 2003 will issue shortly.

Ceist:

121 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the 2002 and 2003 suckler cow grant will be awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26933/03]

An application for premium for five animals under the 2002 suckler cow premium scheme was made on 5 June 2002 in the name of a son of the person named. As the registered herdowner had died, a letter of probate was required before payment could be made in the applicant's name. This has now been received and payment due under the 2002 scheme will issue shortly.

Application under the 2003 suckler cow premium scheme was not received by my Department until 20 October 2003. This application was signed by the son of the person named. Under the terms and conditions of the scheme, if any application is received on or after 23 July 2003, no premium grants claimed thereon shall be paid unless exceptional circumstances apply. While medical evidence relating to the person named has been received with a view to having the late application excused it is not acceptable as she is not the applicant. My Department will review any further evidence which may be submitted in the matter.

Gerard Murphy

Ceist:

122 Mr. Murphy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will report on the case of a person (details supplied) in County Cork; if this person is entitled to compensation; and if so, the details of the scheme involved. [26969/03]

A payment under the on-farm market valuation scheme in respect of four TB reactors disclosed on 9 October 2003 will be processed by the local district veterinary office on receipt of the required documentation from the person concerned.
