Vol. 575 No. 4

Written Answers. - Planning Issues.

Róisín Shortall

Ceist:

96 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government if he has received the results of the research he has commissioned from a company (details supplied) into the ownership and control of building land in certain development areas, particularly Dublin, to determine whether current practises are retarding the overall delivery of building and or impending long-term market stability; if a commitment will be given that the results of the research will be published; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28460/03]

Goodbody Economic Consultants were commissioned to carry out research into this matter and their report is expected to be finalised shortly. This work contributes to my Department's wider examination of possible measures aimed at moderating land costs for housing and other essential public infrastructure. I intend that the consultancy report will be published when overall consideration of these issues is finalised.
